Has anyone had jaw surgery less than 6-9 months after having wisdom teeth extracted? I get my wisdom teeth out in mid-April, and I was hoping to have jaw surgery in August, but that is becoming less likely due to the amount of time needed to allow the tooth extraction sites to heal.

Some surgeons don't care, others do, it is a point of contention. In his book Posnick says he usually removes wisdom teeth during jaw surgery and no f**ks given.
I just had them extracted because my surgeon prefers it that way and it is annoying, I think having both done at the same time must be terrible because you combine both kinds of pain and risks like having a dry socket while having your mouth wired/rubber banded and swollen!
In resume, it is up to your surgeon, it can be done but he may be against it.

Thanks for the info. I'm definitely getting my wisdom teeth out before surgery. I'm just hoping that I won't have to wait 6-9 months to get the jaw surgery done.

Schedule it right now.

Already did. Teeth are out April 18th.
