Title: TMJD - Botox
Post by: Rico on September 23, 2016, 11:10:51 AM
Hello

I have complications after zygomatic bone reposition, since the bone was repositioned with hypercorrection (3mm), hence the upper attachment of the masseter muscle is in wrong position. I mean, it's not in its original position.
Never had TMJD before surgery. I do not clench my teeth

Does anyone have any experience with botox injection into masseter muscle ?
I was recommended to check whether my masseter has caused the problem
If the botox will help temporarly that means I probably need zygomatic bone reposition
It's gonna be kinda part of diagnostic

but I'm afraid of possible side effects. I've seen numerous articles. Some patients reported very serious side effects.
The specialist who use it in his patients claim there's no side effects, but I do not believe

what you know about that, I need your help

I've had botox in the masseter muscles a few times because I have really big muscles there. All it does is soften and relax the muscles. Just make sure you have a certified botox clinician doing it for you

yes. the doctor have done it many times. She made even medical research about that.

My muscles are not overgrew, I do not clench my teeth, that means I'm gonna have irreversible deformation  (it will be only in one muscle) ?  muscle atrophy ?
