Obwegeser is specialised in Lefort III, modified Lefort III, zygomatic osteotomies, orbital rim and cheek advancement.
I think he is the boss when it comes to midface surgeries.
And of course he is also a very good jaw surgeon.
As we all know a Lefort III can be modified in various ways just like a zygomatic osteotomy.
Zygomatic osteotomies (f.e. ZSO) do not move the orbitals. Only a Lefort III does that. That is why it is sometimes called a "True zygomatic osteotomy", because it actually mobilizes the whole zygomatic area.
Calling it a “Modified Lefort III“ is a bit of a misnomer I think.
The user “Earl“ had a True zygomatic osteotomy (or still call it a Modified Lefort III if you want). “Only“ his zygomas and orbits were moved forward, so the (upper) jaw (because his bite was fine) and the nasal bone were left in place.
Mod. Lefort III (or True zygomatic osteotomy) = Lefort III minus Lefort I minus movement of the nasal bone, or: Lefort III minus Lefort II.
if any europeN bros want to consult with obwegeser and get more info on the girl case i will contribute 50 usd towards your consult fee
“The Obwegeser girl“. It is an absolutely incredible result. And nope, I will do it for free (how many mm, were he cut, etc.).
I will also show him Earls X-Rays (of course only if it is okay for you Earl), find out his opinion and ask his advice.
If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact me (please post your question here - no pm) and I will ask Obwegeser for you.

thank you so much, you are a true hero.

Ask him about scleral show. The Obwegesser girl still had it in the post-op photos. (A minor thing given her improvement, but still...)

nothing i am too comfortable putting in writing as it is hearsay, and not based on actual results that i have seen, this is on another forum which is in german, and it was more about bedside manor and cost than skills

ah ok now i remembered, he was involved in a scandal because of the titles that he uses, he does not have the official swiss medical phd, but was using it. you can find it via googleling his name, there was quite a bit of press about it. so again, nothing about his performance as a doctor per se.

AFAIK, this was a technicality that affected other Austrian doctors in Switzerland . Swiss being anal about titles.

exactly, therefore you can prob ignore this, although i think it may have impacted the way he works with the clinic - maybe its a positive in that his prices went down.
btw - are you looking to combine le fort 3 with bsso? are you looking to achieve any rotation? i wonder if the dreaded widening of the nose is less of in issue with lf 3 vs lf 1 as you are moving the whole piece, instead of just making the base of the nose bigger to which it obviously then has to adjust.
