Title: Surgeon won't remove plate and screws

I went to a plastic surgeon for my sliding genioplasty a little over 2 years ago. I want my plate and screws removed but he won't remove them. What are my options?

Curious, what are the problems you're having with the plates and screws?

I wouldn't know the answer for sure but just to wager a guess, go to a max fac for screw removal.

Just some tightness and very mild pain on occasion. My concern is having metal in my body permanently. Have there been any serious complications that you or any of the other members have either experienced or heard of?
