Hello,
I had chinwing surgery and got an infection thereafter. The surgeon seems to think it is gone now, after several rounds of rinsing with antibiotics and three extra weeks on anbitiocs. However, I seem to read that infection can influence how much of the bone graft will resorb: should I be worried about this?

Can you post a picture of your before and after?

lol jeez...let the guy sort out his issues first.

Time will tell. :-\

I think to judge if there is a resorbtion you have to get an dvt pic straight after the cw and a year after.
Besides the infection and numbness you are satisfied with your result?

I can not judge as of yet: swelling is covering up the result. If I look at the image from 3 weeks back I can still see a lot of change.

id hold off wondering until your swelling comes down
you can do your head it trying to hyper-analyze everything while the swelling is distorting the soft tissues.
I dont think you have much to worry about if the antibiotics worked, AFAIK bone resorption due to infection is when the infection is actually IN the bone in which case you'd have far more immediate concerns like not dying lol. However this sounds like a pretty standard infection due to the use of the oral incision, I think you will be fine.

Do you see a lot of swelling in the soft tissue or the bone? So do you see the difference in a normal pic or the DVT?
