Reasonably hard by a delirious patient. I’m just under a year post op from BSSO.
To make things more complicated, I’ve never really fully recovered sensation on the side I was slapped on although I do get occasional tingling/sharp pains.
I’m not sure whether it’s just in my head, but it feels like it’s more tingly and chewing dinner this evening was a bit uncomfortable. No sharp pain or any noticeable swelling or bruising (this happened about 5 hours ago) but I’m more aware of the numbness than usual if that makes sense.
I guess my question is, would I *know* about it if damage had been done, or should I be getting checked out either way - and if so how urgently? Should I be taking myself off to A&E or wait til Monday and contact my surgeon’s Secretary? (I’m in the UK)
Would appreciate people’s thoughts !

after a year your bones are mostly set. unless you were slapped hard enough to break bones, you probably just have regular bruising and soreness from the impact. I wouldent worry too much about it unless it starts getting worse.

Thanks! I'm guessing my surgeon agrees, as he's wanting to see me for review.....at the end of May. Taking it as reassurance!
