Has anyone taken care of themselves starting from hospital discharge? Thoughts? Regrets? Recommendations? I am probably looking at a three piece upper and standard lower, and wondering if I can take care of myself after surgery. I don’t want to muscle through if it’s very high risk.

From most of the double jaw surgery experiences I've read, it seems you will need someone with for the first few days. Best to talk to your surgeon, but other options are staying in hospital longer (if it's not expensive) or you could hire someone like an in-home nurse.

Totally. You'll need a nurse for the first 24 hours but then you're basically fine even though you might have periods of tiredness.

It's 'possible' but life will be hell for the first few days (or week) and you will probably WANT someone there. If you absolutely have to do this on your own, make sure you stock up on literally everything you will need for 2 weeks and mentally prepare yourself for your daily routine. Feeding yourself is very difficult immediately post-op.
