Title: Looking for a doctor in NY or Long Island
Post by: NY76 on July 22, 2019, 06:40:58 PM
My jaw is asymmetrical/shifts to one side.  I’ve previously had a jaw reduction surgery, I also have TMJ, my jaw shifts to the left when I open my mouth.  I don’t know if it’s related to my TMJ as I tend to grind on one side or if it was pushed out of alignment when I had a jaw reduction.  So who is a good doctor to see in NY or Long Island that can tell me exactly what is going on with it?

I had double jaw surgery with Dr. David Behrman at New York Presbyterian and I'm disappointed with the results and am pursuing a revision.

During my recent revision consultations I spoke with Dr. Neugarten at NYCOMS and Dr. Jamali. I'd recommend consulting with both of them. You'd hope both give you a similar plan otherwise keep getting consults until it's clear what the best plan for you is. It's probably worth getting a remote consult with Dr. Gunson at the very least.
