Title: What are differences between Ceph and CBCT?
Post by: simonsjaw11 on July 01, 2020, 04:19:28 PM
Hi guys! I've seen many posted their Ceph/ CBCT on this forum for analysis, but both Ceph/ CBCT seem to image the bone structure and their relations. What are the differences between these two images? Are they both necessary during the initial consultation?

I'm going to have my first consultation next month, as it's very important for treatment plan, I hope to figure out what kinds of imaging should I be taken there. Thanks!

Cephs are better for feedback from this board because they allow for IDing landmark points and taking some basic angle measures.

If you have a cbct then you have automatically a ceph. You can extract the ceph from the cbct with a program. But the radiation is higher if you undergo a cbct. It depends what your surgeon wants. So in any case you have a ceph.
