He shows a case where the mandibular arch was narrowed via osteotomy and stabilized with bone grafting. Im not sure if the same can be done for widening the mandible, but i have seen some papers on it in the past. Interesting case nonetheless

Narrowing is easier than widening. But widening a bit isn’t impossible

Thing is that photo kind of looks like he made a cut to separate and widen, put a graft in there and bolted down to keep things in place. Seems to me that narrowing would involve removing a section and pushing the sides in to close, in which case you would see the bone sections contacting each other as opposed to being separated by a graft. So, I'm STUMPED on this one as to why the photo depicts narrowing and not widening.
