If you have learned languages, and put a lot of time into learning the phonetics of them (sounds that don't exist in English which require particular tongue and lip positions and movements), will jaw surgery mess that up and make it necessary to learn all that from scratch again?

If you have a good outcome, form and function should work in harmony to make speaking easier, if anything. And visa versa.

But I speak fine now, wouldn't my muscles and tongue have to get used to completely new positions to the ones they've been accustomed to for so long? (I'm 31)
