Title: Genio before double jaw surgery?
Post by: johnnyg12 on June 26, 2021, 01:10:23 PM
I looked this up on this forum and I can't find an answer. Is this a bad idea? I have a recessed jaw + chin. However my jaw is only slightly recessed so a genio would improve it.

The thing is I can't afford Jaw surgery right now, and it's likely I will never get it because I need other surgeries. It's going to come down between limb lengthening and jaw surgery for me. Unless I go to India or South Korea.

Heres the thing. My side profile sucks. I am desperate to improve it. a genio would improve it slightly and I can't afford jaw surgery at the moment.

It sounds like you're answering your own question and should just get the genio.

Yeah, it can be done before surgery or as an alternative to surgery if you have a mild case. Only issue with before surgery is you might have to revise it if you ever decide on full double jaw surgery.
