Title: Thoughts on my modified Inverted L/Z plan?

My surgery is a few months away and one of the two surgeons I’m considering is strongly suggesting a modified intra oral Inverted L (which he calls Inverted Z) approach. He says it will achieve everything a normal BSSO can achieve except with no risk to nerves and some added width as well. This is the first time any surgeon had suggested something like this and was wondering if I could get some thoughts here.

what is ur surgeon name? curious, i might consult with him
