Hey guys, I just saw this browsing the before afters of Dr Defrancq, and now I´m wondering if it´s just me or did this guy f**k up his looks?
Like before he looks like a handsome executive, and he went to friendly beta provider. Why someone would do this baffles my mind.

Is this grounded in mainstream sense of aesthetic? I mean he lost a couple points in looks right?
-
Goofy.
-
Had he went for zygomatic implants with fat grafts/filler to his eyelids, he would be far better off.
-
His masseters look ridiculous in the before
-
Goofy.
what is that supposed to mean?

I agree with your judgement. Somewhat ill conceived surgery.
-
Maybe its what the patient wanted??
-
He seems older in the after, so I wonder what the time frame is.
-
He had masseter hypertrophy.
ETA: Also had very prominent jaw angles...too prominent.
Anyway, the website the photo was found on tells you what he had done. So, why was this question asked when the answer was on the website? http://www.facialsculptureclinic.com/en/case/jaw-surgery/133/

What an useless thread.

OP is gone.
Stupid thread. Should I just delete it?

No love lost here if it disappears.

HE LOOKED SO MUCH BETTER BEFORE!
-
He looked better before, more masculine.
I think he needed to have broader zygomatic arch.
Same mistake here :

totally she needed a stronger chin, not reduced gonial angles. f**k these dutch or belgium or whatever doctors are f**king retarded. I would never even step into their clinics for advocating such surgical tragedies.

Before is way way better.
As we're talking about about bad results. Can someone help me to realize why this result looks so bad?
Don't know if is alar base flaring or overadvanced maxilla.

holy s**t thats awful. Yeah totally overadvanced maxilla. She needed definitely could have used a strong modified lefort II that moved her zygos and orbital rim along with her maxilla. I mean it might be better for her breathing but the results are subpar.

Are those public results or are you sharing someone's reveal? If the latter, please remove. If they're public results post the link instead of an imgur link.
As to what happened is over advancement.

That is crazy amount of maxillary advancement. From front she actually looks better to me after. Looks like 15 mm advancement from side to me. Do u know how much it actually was?
-
I would not call a 'bad' result. she still has the 'witches chin' (ptotic flesh pad when smiling). So she would need to see a plastic surgeon well versed in treating that and possibly if she want's her lip shortened. It just shows there are some trade offs but i think the improvements far exceed the trade offs in this case.
-
I also think she looks WAY better after, she has asymmetry but perhaps that is quite common with jaw surgery?

Guesswork. How much you feel her maxilla was advanced?
-
10mm.

No idea but if I have to guess then maybe even around 2 cm.
Any idea who the surgeon was?
-
Thanks GJ but I do not think that is 10 mm
IIRC This is 10 mm - https://imgur.com/A3Wgr8n . Looks mild by comparison.
Yeah Bowie i'd wager more on your estimate but probably its somewhat less.

From a public facebook brazilian forum of orthognatic surgery. That's a link, there is many BA. https://m.facebook.com/groups/145168205551830. But the people there don't know anything about their surgery. Just post this here, to confirm my theory: avoid overadvancement of maxilla.
Already asked her this question, but she doesn't know how many mm moved
-
The few cases I've ever seen from Brazil all have over-advancement.
Is this a cultural/aesthetic preference there, too small a sample, or do the surgeons have improper training?
-
Well I do find it odd how some people do not know how much the movements were. Should have figures going into surgery.
Well Brazilians tend to like big dramatic stuff tbh , Viva!
-
She may have needed to be cool with the trade off with over advancement of Lf1 in exchange for maximum advancement to the lower jaw. Oh well, just goes to show you an example of 'anti face' (very forward face).
-
antE face. :D
-
If anyone have a freetime and wants to see a lot of BA (Brazilians like to share their results), this group is a good option. But in 99,9999% of times they don't will know anything about the surgery.
It's funny to see that aesthetic's preference can be so different too.
Thanks to you all

Thanx. I knew something was wrong with remembering the term.

Looking at the after pics, my TMJ are hurting me so bad.
I think she was better before.
I don't like the proeminent chin.
The over advancement makes her forehead looks flat and recessed.

Her front looks better after. Side .yes . ch impish unfortunately. But its an intense and rare maxillary advancement . Would be great to know the figure but 15mm or so may be right. Whatever it is , should have been 5 mm less.

this result is so bad it makes me never want to have any surgery ever. I dont think I have ever seen a worse result, ever, like seriously
-
Her front looks better after.
It's an illusion. You probably think she looks better because she has became blonde and shows some boobs in the after pics.
(I'm not kidding.)

she also doesnt have nasiolbial folds and her jaw looks better but from the side it looks so fake and not human that it doesnt even matter how good it looks from the front
-
In the first pic he Kind of looks like a squirrel cramming nuts for winter, but-yeah, realistically it wasn't that bad. He definitely took away a bit of the masculinity.
-
Adonia : Chacun ses goûts !
(Everybody has different tastes !)
-
why does her face look longer after?

In my opinion she looked better before, but I'd like to know how her chin was fixed?

That's an extremely good result. She went from not attractive to cute. Like Kavan says, there's a trade off. You look at the front, she looks pretty/cute. Maybe her maxilla is a bit too forward, but is it really that awful? Way better than before. Even from profile, she doesn't look bad, even quite sexy. People shouldn't judge so extremely harsh when there's such an improvement. You can't get the perfect surgery with such a starting base.
