I suspect everyone here knows there's basically three active communities for jaw surgeries right now. There's this forum, jaw surgery blog, and arch wired. There's also a Facebook group ("We have had/need jaw surgery") that seems to be pretty active. I recently discovered a stale Yahoo mailing list, which appears to have been very active until last year:
