Sorry to seem in a panic, but I'm in dire need of a soecialist who does maxiomamdibular surgery for airway/breathing problems. I am equally affected when awake and upright as I am when lying down or asleep. I've ruled out asthma, allergies, reflux, stress and more besides. The problem is worsening to the point I cannot walk anymore unless I maintain a certain, forward head/swayback posture. I cannot relax or else breathing worsens, as proven by when I took muscle relaxants, being labelled as "just anxious." Symptoms also include nasal congestion, hypoxia, lack of sleep and that the slightest bit of post nasal drip in my throat can entirely block my airways. Like "call 999" levels.

While I've been referred to a Maxiofacial specialist in Cambridge Spire/Nuffield,  I have a long waiting time, and I don't know if I can do better. The jaw is the only thing remaining that could be responsible for my breathing woes - tension and posture affect my symptoms in seconds, so I'm positive there's a connection - but I need to find someone who I can convince to operate ASAP. I can't wear mandibular advancement devices, having tried one and getting repeated infections/pain from it, and having seen someone else use it, I refuse to use CPAP all day every day.

Please point me in the right direction! Ideally someone in south-west UK who knows a thing or two about airway problems/apnea!!

EDIT: Forgot to say I also seem to have a huge tongue - would this kind of treatment fix it, or would that be a seperate issue? Very important!

I recommend consulting with Paul Johnson (Nuffield Health Guildford Hospital). If you're willing to pay for the surgery yourself then he's about as good as it gets in the UK.
