Is this Dr. Gerald Wittenberg in Vancouver?

Yes. He's supposed to be well known and highly capable from what I've read. I'll probably consult with him to find out more in the near future, as I live in Van.

nice. He would be a short flight away. Any other surgeons in Canada that might be worth consulting?

This is all out of pocket? Was there any finance options for paying the fees back, I mean I am sure they don't expect 50k out of pocket from every patient. I wouldn't mind financing 20K to pay back, if the interest late was very low. But as a 25 year old starving actor trying to finish a B.A. it would be almost impossible to finance much more.

I know it seems nuts but yes, they expect full payment for surgical costs a week or more before surgery or it'll be cancelled. They don't care if insurance pays or if you pay but it's required. No carecredit or payment option stuff is accepted.

You're right, a young person getting their degree could almost never finance this. Many people can't even when there are two working parents trying to get the best help for their kid. Pretty much everyone who comes accross G/A have this initial reaction to the what they charge and how they do it.
