Idiopathic Anklyosis Surgery on 9/28/16
« on: September 26, 2016, 02:05:57 PM »
Hello to all! My teenage daughter will be having surgery in a couple of days. Her mouth opening is only 8mm due to fused & degenerated jawbones. Surgeon said she'll be undergoing temporo mandibular arthroplasty, condolectomy, coronoidectomy, myofascial flap & rib graft. Not to mention removal of four(4) wisdom teeth. Am really worried about the surgery and post-op recovery.. any insights? How long would recovery usually take? How would she eat post-op?

Appreciate any advice since we have no idea what to expect..

Thanks!
