and this is the citation for the second one, but there is a newer one coming out in a 6 months which demonstrates the long-term stability of the procedure for a few hundred patients over the course of many more years. Note: this original article is from 1990, so Dr. Keller has been doing it for over 30 years.

let me say this definitively. I've seen a lot of ps patients who want fuller under eye areas either because of age or lack of bone support etc.. and I've seen how implants, HA paste etc. has been used to try and augment this area (in addition to lateral canthopexy etc..) but this is the FIRST time I've seen the actually bone (i.e. infraorbital rim) moved forward and it actually looks much, much better, srtronger and more natural than any of the above methods.

It's interesting that he told you to avoid cutting the turbinates. I was told I may need to get a turbinectomy to improve my nasal breathing. Need to do so more research on this now.

Do you feel you need better breathing through your nose?   Who told you that you may need your turbinates reduced?
I also heard that turbinate reduction can be risky.
Less is more.  They can do an in office 5 minute procedure using radio frequency that why shrink the turbinate soft tissue but not cut the cartilage.   For those really stuffed constantly I would try that first with a doctor who is conservative.

Okay, I did not ask him about CCW at all as I'm not necessarily committed to that. He did say though that after my sleep apnea test if I do indeed have sleep apnea he would have to go more aggressively.

He stated several times though that removing the turbinates was a VERY bad idea and if I were to ask the ENT's at the mayo clinic (ear nose throat specialist) they would advise against it. He said it can lead to something called "empty nose syndrome".

They are not removed, they are like a balloon that is deflated and then they reflate it with another thing.

Turbinectomy is the removal of the turbinates. Like stupidjaws it make my breathing better BUT I'm not sure it was due to the turbinectomy or the wider airway. I would wait and do it only as last resort. It makes sense not to touch them, they are there for a reason.

Yeah that is a conservative way I was talking about.    Did you have it done in office under a local anesthesia?
How long did it take to heal?   Where you able to breathe better instantly?

local anesthesia and sedation, clinic, 2 days to heal partially and a weak to be perfectly fine.
