regarding different lefort and bsso cuts
« on: May 23, 2018, 09:34:06 PM »
ive noticed that diff surgeons will choose to perform different variations on both the mandibular cut as well as the lefort cut (some do high, there is even stuff like quadrangular lefort , etc).

is there a consensus on which cut is best in terms of retaining the mandibular shape??? also, as far as the leforts are concerned, whats the best bet if u need the entire midface advanced?? both the alveolar process area as well as the zygoma?? assuming ofc that a full lefort 3 is out of question since im p sure no one performs it anymore on non syndrome patients, and id like to go with dr g who i know doesnt perform it.

what lefort 1 cut from dr g would go best with some type of modified lefort 3 from lets say dr s??

would it be better to simply try and get a high lefort 1 from dr g and then go to someone like eppley for custom made implants to project the zygoma laterally and horizontally?? would there be any issue going this route in terms of a step off??
