I would NOT worry about this 'bone sticking out' stuff because it has the effect of LOWERING the MPA and for someone with a STEEP MPA, it would make it LESS. Any deficit at back of jaw could easily be filled in with filler.  Also, that 'bone sticking out' thing will make the lower face look wider from the front which helps someone with steep MPA.

I have a question regarding the MPA.
Can a sliding genio give a false reading on the MPA measurement? Say a patient has a steep MPA of 45 degrees. However say the surgeon did a sliding genio - advancment. So when they do the MPA measurements after surgery, since the line has to intersect the tip of the chin, can it give a false reading on the angle of the mandible?

As far as I understand, CCW involve rotation around the osteotomy site and/or condyles. Is the former which causes bone to stick out.
