Maxillomandibular expansion, any surgeons in Europe?
« on: May 05, 2014, 01:35:01 AM »
After a lot of research i have came across maxillomandibular expansions to advance both the upper and lower jaw.  I don't understand why there is not a lot of informations or surgeons who do this procedure in the U.K and Europe, with the amount of benefits it has i.e improvement of mouth breathing.

It there any surgeons who actually do this procedure and mentioned on there website in the UK or Europe?

Who was the surgeon who operated? I'd be surprised if he wasn't American.

Again any surgeons in Europe? Seems there aren't many if not any.

Joachim Obwegesser.  The paper also references Triaca.

Is Joachim Obwegesser still doing surgeries? I can't seem to find any site for him, the website www.zzm.uzh.ch only says he teaches.

Where would i find more info for him or Triaca?

Been looking on the institutomaxilofacial website i belive are based in Barcelona and came across the page under new technology the procedure Osteodeistraction Surgery, there is a photo of a lady holding her lower jaw i'm wondering if they do the mandible widening.  It's going to be worth contacting them to find out.

I believe that's Dr Alfaro's clinic. Don't waste your time.
