I had a small open bite. I had lower jaw surgery to rotate it up and close the bite. The surgeon said he was pushing back the jaw a little bit in this movement. It's part of the reason I said yes to the genioplasty. I'm looking at the xrays now though and it seems like I have more space after my last molars on the bottom, and it seems like my mandible was lengthened from what I'm seeing. Am I wrong? Why is there more space after my molars or is this an illusion somehow?
My face looks extremely gaunt and long now, and I'm trying to figure out why.
