So apparently
by 2020s most diseases will go away as nanobots cure them. It's 2015 now and I can't even f@cking make my condylar head longer. I think there's fascinating technology on the horizon that I've made posts about that's going to radically change jaw surgery. This is technology that's nearly available right now. But when I do the math about realistic timelines for it to hit the market, get FDA approval, cycle through applications, work out bugs, domino effect on other technologies, and for it to be demonstratably safe... even assuming no hiccups along the way we're looking at 5-10 years MINIMUM. That puts us well into Kurzweil's timeframe for nanobots to cure everything. No one is even claiming that teeth can be replaced anytime soon, certainly not in this timeframe and maybe not even within our lifetimes.
I think Kurzweil has already gone to Mars, we live on different planets. I really, really hope he's right though.
