pain in lower left gums when swallowing (1 week post op BSSO)
« on: November 12, 2016, 04:26:14 AM »
Hello!

I had a BSSO last Thursday (advancement). My healing is going great aside from this quick zap of pain I get almost EVERY TIME I swallow. The pain is on the left side of my lower jaw, on the left side of my chin. It feels like it's right underneath my teeth, in my gums. It wakes me up multiple times during the night. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this? Did it go away? Is there anything I can do to help with the pain?

Thank you.

It's a good thing, it means your nerves are healing themselves. During the surgery they would have been knocked around, so when you get that zapping pain it means they're on the mend.

Thank you.
