Which type of Jaw surgery?
« on: January 26, 2017, 10:00:07 AM »
Hi All,

I hope everyone is well, as you can see this is my first post.

I'm looking for someone who can advice me on what surgery I would require and to name a number of Dr's that specialise in the surgery so I can do my research.

My issue: I have always had a narrow jaw that I would like to be wider, if I was to use the perfect example Tom Cruise comes to mind as his jawline before surgery is similar to mine (I'm sure most people want a jaw line like Brad Pitt or Tom Cruise aha).

My questions:

1. What jaw surgery would i require? (what is it called - Jaw Augmentation - Jaw Orthognathic - Jaw Advancement etc)
2. Can anyone give me a ball park figure of what this would cost ££
3. Which Dr's would you recommend?
4. How long would I have to stay out of the gym for post surgery?

I have done a little research and noticed Dr Mommaerts and Dr Raffaini keep popping up BUT i'm not sure if they only deal with more serious cases than mine?

Thanks everyone,

Regards,

Well when you advance the jaws, generally, they appear wider the more forward that they are. If you want the change that Cruise had then you need jaw implants. Silicone implants will just look like bloated fat or tumours so it would have to be medpor or PEEK.

Thanks for the reply.
I don't quite understand what you mean?

So I would need the surgery called Jaw Advancement and medpor implants? Or just medpor implants?
Also could you recommend and Drs? I'm UK based.

Thanks again for your help, if anyone else wants to jump in please do.. the more info the better!
