Enlarged tonsils to cause relapse after underbite surgery?
« on: February 24, 2017, 03:42:57 PM »
Hey guys I had upper jaw surgery for my under its back in December and have since recovered. Yet at my last post-op appt with my dr. he recommended that I get my tonsils removed because they were pretty big and this could cause me to mouth breathe and relapse again. He was saying how I got an underbite because I was a mouth breather when I was younger and that you want the bone to stay where its at by breathing through your nose (especially while sleeping) so you use the muscles and it doesn't atrophy back to the original position.

Is this a solid reason to get my tonsils removed? Even though I never get sore throats or strep throats which is a sign of needing to get them removed.
