how narrow is my palate?

Here is a picture of my palate... Does it look VERY narrow to you or just ok?

Thanks! I always thought that my palate is a bit too narrow, but my ortho and surgeon say it is ok/ doesn't warrant surgery anymore since my bite is good....

Mine is quite narrow too, what I don't understand is how I still developed a wide jaw and face. I thought palate width is important in horizontal development of the skull. Could someone chime in on this please?

I have a similar situation. I think I inherited a broadish face across my cheek bones from my parents (that's sort of their facial shape) however heavy thumb sucking intervened. my suspicion is that i did this so much that i sort of moulded my palate into a narrow high vault. to this day, my right thumb - im right handed - fits into the roof of my mouth but my left doesn't.

ps. i should add that i was a mouth breather, at least at night.

^Right, well that's different than my situation. No mouth breathing, thumb sucking etc. Maybe a narrow palate could just be genetic?

do you think you inherited yours? when i see my mum and dad they both seem to have broadish smiles that go with their broadish faces. i got the face shape but not the smile so, for me, i feel something environmental intervened. then again, maybe the genes skipped a generation.
