Is this the perfect lower jaw for a man? Ladies, please contribute
« on: September 07, 2015, 11:24:09 AM »
Hi guys, since many of us might be asking our surgeons to turn our bsso's, chin wing's and genioplasties in the service of improving our looks. There are a few pics I'm taking to my surgeon to give him/her an idea of what I want for my lower jaw, chin-wing and genioplasty. It may not be possible for the surgeon to replicate this, but possible to approximate and steer in the direction of. So I'd like you guys to chime in on what you think an attractive lower jaw is so I have my bases covered with pics to show my doc. There may be aesthetic aspects or possibilities I haven't considered!

Hhere are some examples --and I'm asking, is this the best there is?

Matter of aesthetic preferences. The jaws of those guys you posted don't look very appealing to me. There is too much of a transition from the jawline into the jaw angle for my likings.

I like this one (the jaw and the guy: )

triot, osteotomy,

you mean the above guys i posted have too sharp gonial angles. and then a very sharp wide chin. You like a more tapered, less segregated look? Correct? Feel free to post more pics for comparison.

Too robust.

It does illustrate quite well what the defining characteristics of masculinity is though. Aim for a look like this and be happy if you can get even halfway there.

I don't think there is a perfect jaw. It's whatever complements your facial structure and features. Accordingly, each race and ethnicity each have their own range of what type of jaw looks good on them.

yah i think we all have a good idea now.

i mean with jon kortajerena it's like what part of that guy isn't good looking? with the perfect skin and lip shape and teeth and hair and eyes it's like his jawline is his least interesting thing.

that wrestler looks f**king horrible, but yeah i see he's got a strong jaw, but too robust is right. lindberg looks a lot like ed skrein. --it's all good, i actually like my jaw and chin shape, i just need the whole kit and kaboodle brought forward.

I don't understand what needs to happen to get that "bump" at the ramus you see from the front. You see it very clearly in OP's pictures. Surely it can't be purely about low bodyfat or anything. It looks like hypertrophied masseter muscles that are just...genetic? Or do they stick out more because the jaw is grown wider/thicker?

Here are my favs for the ladies:

Julianne Moore
and Hilary Rhoda

I'd let them ride my jaw all night long.

you can see when you expand the pics Moore has some pretty bad dark triangles. I have almost as bad --but it makes sense for her age. Mine was cause by orthodontics. If any of you find ANY info on future treatments to regenerate that area please please tell me.

True.  But "I want to look like this guy" may be a show stopper when talking to a surgeon.  Using him as an example of what you consider good features should be OK, but may still set "unrealistic expectations, wacky patient" alarms.
