CRAZY ITCHY gums after jaw surgery
« on: December 18, 2016, 01:59:59 PM »
Has anyone had CRAZY ITCHY gums and teeth sockets after jaw surgery?
Its been about a month and OMG, I can not get the itching to stop. I cant even sleep because it titches soooooo bad.
Its like i have gingivitis or something. Im brushing several times a day and gargling to prevent any gingivitis.
Anyone have this happen to them? How did you make the itching stop?
How long does this itching last? HELP!

The only thing that makes the itching stop is prescription pain killers. I dont want to take these but its the ONLY thing that works.

It's the nerves coming back. You should take the meds and not try to tough it out. They actually help with healing.

Thank your for your reply. It is GREATLY appreciated!
But, isn't taking pain killers longer than a couple weeks bad for your liver? (Hydrocodone/acetaminophen) I ran out of the pain killers from jaw surgery a couple weeks ago and am relying on old ones from a previous surgery.

It's more like several months. You could tell your surgeon about this and ask him to prescribe something.
