When does my face begin to feel normal?
« on: June 30, 2018, 04:32:15 PM »
I am coming up on my 8th week post surgery and I still feel very tight and stiff and like I have a rag stuffed in my mouth. Speaking is tiring and muffled and much of my mouth and lower lip still feels like it is frozen. After how many weeks can I expect my face to feel like my face again?   I should mention that I had both jaws advanced and my chin repositioned.

You should of course regain function, but there is a chance for nerve damage that won't heal completely. It is a new position of the jaws and some things may naturally not feel like before.
