inferior alveolar nerve pain
« on: September 30, 2023, 03:52:56 PM »
I had a genioplasty 8 months ago, along with a face and neck lift and a few other surgeries. (I previously had my chin shaved 2 times.) My inferior alveolar nerve on the left side of my chin still hurts 8 months later, is this normal? It’s very sensitive to even touch the skin in the area. My tongue on that side feels awkward as well. My surgeon says it will get better. I asked my surgeon if I should get a scan to see if the nerve is damaged and he said no not at this point. Is there a scan to see if the nerve is damaged? What kind of doctor should I go see about the questionable damage? If it is damaged can it be repaired? I’m not sure what to do next?
