Genioplasty revision, is Dr Eppley the best?
« on: September 09, 2025, 11:42:05 PM »
Hi everyone,
I am new here, I am based in Australia and still recovering after Bimax and genioplasty done 2 years ago by Dr Coceancig, who has been suspended months after my surgery. I am still recovering because he severed my right alveolar nerve so sensation to my chin is coming back slowly, also it feels like my mentalis muscle has not been reattached properly by the surgeon who removed my plates. I had the plates removed last year due to exposed screws and risk of infection.

I really dont like my chin, aesthetically and functionally. I am finding hard to find a surgeon in Australia who has had enough experience with revisions, or that at least makes me feel at ease going for a revision. My consults always end up with me feeling like I will do more harm to my chin by having a revision.

From all the research I do, Dr Eppley keeps coming up as a top surgeon for genio revision. He seems to understand the importance of reattaching the muscle correctly for functionality as well as the aesthetics.

Has anyone had some experience with Dr Eppley and could you share your opinion? Do you think I should be looking at other surgeons?

Thank you

Dr. Eppley knows how to 'work' the search engines such that his site comes up high on the list of results the search engine kicks up. To test this, I just plugged in part of your statement: "...my mentalis muscle has not been reattached properly by the surgeon" and his site came up first, top of the list, in the Google search.

So, make sure you are not concluding that because he comes up on top of the list of search results that he is the 'top' surgeon for the job.

Try 'expanding' your Google search to lower down on the list in which there are a number of surgeons that understand the importance of reattaching the mentalis muscle. The difference is that the other surgeons lower down on the list have published papers in peer reviewed journals where as Eppley works the search engines to appeal directly to patients.
