jaw surgery or chin augmentation?
« on: December 31, 2013, 08:58:35 AM »
I'm am not sure whether to get jaw surgery or chin augmentation. I have had 4 teeth removed , currently have braces on and was told about 2 years ago I would need jaw surgery but never really considered it until now..

So you've had 6 teeth removed. How can they continue to destroy faces like this. You should start discuss surgery with your orthodontist asap.

What is the effects of surgery at adulthood? longer recovery, relapse? I always thought it was surgical intervention pre adulthood that was detrimental

Did your profile change a lot after the extractions?   Why didn't they expand you instead of extracting. That's why your having a hard time breathing now

You have to be careful because as you close the spaces in the lower arch you will get more deficient in the lower jaw area.    I would get a few opinions from surgeons as well as other orthos.
IMO you would need both jaws operated on to get the desired result of a more balanced profile.
