The best facial osteotomies / implants surgeons in Europe
« on: March 21, 2015, 12:34:11 PM »
Those of you that did the research and are familiar with the market, can you please give me the doctors names?
I will need to take a flight from the middle east especially for the consults and (possible) procedures with them, I'm would like to see only the best of the best.
As for now I contacted Dr.Triaca and Dr.Mommaerts.

There are several threads on this forum that go into great length about why you should stay as far away from Mommaerts as you can. I don't understand why his name keeps popping up all the time because it's hard to find a single person who has had a successful surgery with him. Where did you even hear about him? I haven't really heard anything negative about Triaca but just know that it's super expensive to have jaw surgery in Switzerland.

Italy and Germany seem to have a lot of good surgeons. Zarrinbal (Germany) and Pelo (Italy) have been mentioned a lot on this forum lately but who is to say that they're better than everyone else? It can be really hard to see through all the hype. If you're flying all the way to Europe from the Middle East then you should try to arrange as many consultations as you can while you're here. Rico on this forum has consulted with a lot of different surgeons so you can read his threads here for a bit more information about some of these surgeons. Zarrinbal seems competent and has performed surgery on quite a few members on this forum without screwing up so he seems like a relatively safe bet. Communicating with him can be a nightmare though.

Dave,  probably we have different problem - my is more unique (midface not jaw) and I will not be very helpful, but I put all info (summary) here:
http://jawsurgeryforums.com/index.php/topic,4198.msg32473.html#msg32473
Start from this.  Read whole thread

Please read also here: http://jawsurgeryforums.com/index.php/topic,4378.0.html (my recently thread, full of questions)

you can find more info by looking here:
http://jawsurgeryforums.com/index.php?action=profile;area=showposts;u=243

Gregor there was many times written why Mommaerts is still popular and he will be - no photos of the botched cases. That's all
Unfortunately all depends on those patients. For people more imporant is what they see not they hear. This is how our brain works and noone will change it

PS Prof. Pelo has treated only one person from here (good results), but there is no contact anymore with him... However he has good opinions on italian forums and his fees are not high. Good surgeon to consider, like many others

DaveE

I had double jaw surgery with Dr Hernández Alfaro in Barcelona, and I am very happy with the result.
He does Skype consultations and it was through one of these sessions that I chose him. I had seen three other European surgeons in the UK, Switzerland and Spain.

I notice that a number of people on this forum have done a lot of research but have not yet experienced jaw surgery.

Thanks you for your kinds help guys. I'll surely read every piece of info that you posted ITT and take into account your surgeons reviews.

On the other aspect of my OP, Facial implants specialists. I'm really looking for someone that is Yaremchuk/ Terino /Binder/ Eppley tier in Europe.
I would like to do costume jaw (silicone) implants + brow-ridge implant and possible some bone cement (just for shape) to the rim-cheek area, instead of small malar-rim implant.

hmm Prof Nocini (his team) from Italy (Verona also Prof Sesenna (Italy). They perform osteotomies and use a lot of HA and other stuff and they have good opinions. Generally he are  well known I suppose

perhaps Zarrinbal (from Germany - Berlin)

I'm not sure about the last one if he uses a lot of implants / fillers
The first two for sure

PS what is bone cement ?  do you have some information about whether HA implants are gonna to change into your own bone ?  I made the topic about this. I was told that by a surgeon, but now I see some contradictory informations about this.

AFAIK HA paste is bone cement.  It's more likely to erode bone than grow into it.
