TMJ stats

Cool paragraph about TMJ in this oral surgery textbook:

"It is estimated that an average of 32% of the population reports at least one symptom of TMJ disorder, whereas 55% demonstrate at least one clinical sign. ... Occlusal factors are often claimed to be associated with TMJ disorders. Interestingly, patients with MMA deficiency (ie short face growth pattern) tend to have higher maximum biting forces than those with normal or long vertical facial dimensions. ... whereas the patient with a Class I deep bite is more likely to have TMJ clicking; in the latter case, there is no reason to believe that progressive TMJ pathology will occur."
