NEXT LEVEL HUMAN -TRANSHUMANISM

Hi guys, well since I spend so much time on this sight basically looking for ways I can be improved,

I thought I'd broaden out the field a bit and provide a thread where we can talk about other ways

to make us SUPERHUMAN. This is a movement called transhumanism that posits we have a biological

imperative to improve, bioengineer and improve ourselves so that we become immortal and godlike.

I'm all for it. So here we can discuss things like life extension, stem cell engineering, height extension,

cryofreezing, but I also want to hear about supplements and other freaky supplements that can give you

powers and make you more godlike. So let the discussions begin!

yeah i agree with you gregor. I sort of meant like cool radical stuff like in that vid. Zyzz is too euro-gay for me. Great body sure, but his whole vibe is so gay. And I don't care if chicks like it. I'd hate myself for looking like that. I think guys like tom hardy are way way cooler.

Anyway, I was wondering about things elite athletes do to maintain peak performance. This isn't and has never been about chicks for me. It's about self-transcendence.

jawkid, it's not necessarily about what's in that videogame, it's more of a philosophy. we're already transhuman in a sense since we have things like contact lenses, and artificial hearts and implants. But transhumanism embraces the idea that the human condition isn't fixed and that we should embrace technologies that allow us to create new possibilities for ourselves.

I fully expect "designer" babies to become a thing within the next 50 years. I don't think we'll see the same kind of discrimination that is shown in the movie Gattaca but at some point I wouldn't be surprised if it becomes illegal to make babies the old fashioned way.

Reincarnation.

Reincarnation is heavily misunderstood. In my practice of Buddhism we do not believe in the reincarnation of the soul. But that the last event of the mind can create a desire for re-birth of that mind into another state. This is a complicated topic. But regardless, how can we enhance and indefinitely prolongate this birth or incarnation. THAT is the question!
