Should a "Zygomatic Sandw. Osteotomy" only be done for people with deformities?

A surgeon told me that.

I am very concerned and confused.

I thought it is an easy surgery.

Is a ZSO safe or is there a possible risk of nerve damage?

What do you think?

Dr Deschamps Braly says the ZSSO creates a step off...??  Maybe not visible but palpable?

I would honestly just not do it. Higher risk for nerve damage, he clearly isnt comortable performing it. What precisely are you trying to achieve that couldnt be done in a less invasive anner?

A ZSSO is described as a simple surgical tecnique for use in midface corrections.

Can you please PM me the name(s) of the surgeons who said that? I mean I saw pictures of people having it done, neither of them looked deformed.
