I am wondering how important the alignment of the soft tissue midline is to the dental midline for aesthetics.
For example the position of the frenulum in comparison to the midline of the incisors.
Mine is nowhere near like this. My frenulum is off to one side and dental midline at the other side, relative to the centre of my nose (which is probably off centre itself).
I'm curious what determines the centre and how can symmetry be improved through surgery?
Do surgeons normally require this be corrected beforehand through orthodontics? Are people going to get substandard jaw surgery results if they don't resolve this discrepancy before surgery?
