Im thinkin of getting orthognathic surgery to increase my airway size by advancing my recessed jaws. Aesthetics is important to me aswell

Trying to decide which surgeon to go to.  Im in Canada so it is difficult for me to start getting consultations with these surgeons.  Does anyone have any experience with consulting or having surgery with any of these surgeons? any recommendations?

It's not only a matter of skills (especially at this level) but also a matter of feeling. It is really important to share a common view with your surgeon, and make sure he gets it. You should see them both (yeah, I know, expensive) and then, decide.
Contact is key to me.

Was in contact with Brusco and can highly recommend him, was extremly helpful for my case. Before you decide on any kind of surgery or doctor, you should have a call with him.

Why is it difficult to start getting consultations in Canada?

I had a skype consultation with Brusco as well, I hope to have my pre op taken care of in a few weeks time (flying to zurich is about 10 hours) and then the actual surgery after that. 

Canada has a lot of good surgeons, but most of them are EITHER maxfacs who focus on functional procedures, OR plastic surgeons who like to do camouflage procedures to cover up skeletal deficiencies, as opposed to addressing the actual problem.

We also only have the option for medpor, silastic or bone graft for implants.  The best surgeons who do aesthetic maxilliofacial surgeries are in europe, and a few in the US.

You have to have 5-8 surgeries to get to where you wanna be if you want a real transformation.  bi-max, chin wing, zso, modified lefort and that's just the bone work, maybe a rhino, skin resurfacing, hair transplant. Yeah just go for it man. We can do anything!

Damn thats alot of work to have done.  I think if anyone had all that they would certainly be approaching the uncanny valley of looking like a doll. Be careful; we've all seen people who get too into the dopamine rush of it all and end up looking strange. 

Im going to try to minimize my cost/benefit ratio and that means forgoing the bimax for now.  hopefully with that and a hair transplant il be happy until im old and dont care anymore.

lol that sounds like a good plan! You know the hockey player Sean Avery? He def. has a hair transplant but it looks pretty good.

I can just tell cause the hair line is so dense and the way the hair grows but 99 percent of people would not be able to tell.

Other great hair loss stories are of course Matthew Mcconaghey but I think he might have a piece cause he went from pretty bald to full head of hair.

Luckily for us, one of the best HT surgeons in the world is in Vancouver (last i checked atleast 5 years ago).  So worth it to not have to take drugs every day that mess ur dick up.

Also, youre probably right again; I have a friend whos had a bimax, 2 ZSO, 2 chin wings and 2 rhinoplastys, and he only looks kinda off.  not enough for him to be negatively impacted but enough that anyone who knows wassup will know he had work done.

Hair loss does not cease with HT. Unless you are just covering up a receding hairline you will need to go on Finasteride to sustain the HT results.

I think its the rhinos that run the risk of making people look "off" or like they've had work done.

Its a very delicate balance, and I think most people are a little bit too eager to get nose jobs as they seem to be a rather "lite" surgery, but it can have a dramatic impact on the face - not necessarily in a good way either - and probably should be avoided unless the nose is obviously a concern aesthetically.

I think this is particularly true for men, where a larger nose is actually an important component of masculine dimorphism. Women generally seem to have better results from rhinos as the issue of "feminizing" the face is well....not an issue.
