yeah could be...but ccw is our only option...even because steep occlusal planes post surgery are pretty ugly

I think it was a mistake to reduce her lower jaw (which was already small to begin with). She needed more CCW and some mandibular advancement. Her surgeon is setting her up for sleep apnea down the road.

maybe

Hello people commenting on my photos.
I'm Terra from openbiteblog and I just wanted to clarify that I am more than happy with my results. I had my lower jaw brought back because my upper jaw could not be advanced any more than it was with surgery, which was 3mm or I would look like a baboon. It was easily visible in the imaging and my surgeon agreed that it would not be aesthetically pleasing.
From seeing my surgeons previous cases and his style of surgery I was more than happy with what he did and I made it clear exactly how I wanted my chin and that I wanted the vertical drop on my lower jaw reduced as much as possible. Basically I wanted a straight jaw line.
Also to the person saying i was being "set up for sleep apnea"
I had severe sleep apnea prior to jaw surgery.
I used to have many nights where i would wake up with my throat collapsed and couldn't breathe. Since jaw surgery I haven't had any breathing issues. I can actually breathe perfectly through my nose for the first time in my life.

Thanks everyone who had nice things to say. Means a lot. It's been a tough road and I am more than happy that my sleep apnea is resolved, I no longer have chronic TMJ pain, and I can chew normally. To me the physical changes feel like a huge bonus.

Hey terra, I can't say I've read all your posts (a bit drunk right now tbh) but just wanted to say I used your pics because your pre surgery malocclusion status is very very similar to my own. Anterior open bite, cross bite, class 3 with a convex profile, etc.

anyhow I think to a limited extent I can extrapolate some of your results to my own (but soft tissue difference definitely suggest different results). just wanted to say you were already very attractive before and your results made you more so (while still maintaining your individual features that make you unique)

Check your PM's, I think I can learn a bit from you

euphoria, you gotta control this alcohol problem. you're not a teen anymore and coming back home at 3 am drunk is not the way a young adult should behave.

yeah, her paranasal area looks great too! That is the exact type of result I'm looking for, if I got that cheekbone projection seems like it'd be more of a nonissue

good find pekay
