Help: which procedures? (cephs + pics of face)
« on: April 13, 2017, 08:20:17 AM »
Hi guys,
I need your help to finally make a decision which procedures I should get:

Functional problems:
-Unfixable lisp (been to the speechtherapist 3-4 times)
-Short breath, need to mouth breath even when walking fast
-Lip incompetence, have to actually press to get them closed

But since I had camoflage ortho in my teeange years (until 16, 21 now), the maxfac I consulted wanted to Chin wing + ZSO and said he wouldn't do bimax if my ex-ortho doesn't recommend it, of course he didn't.

My problems are my weak chin, the negative orbital vector and the flat midface, even though my mouth protrudes behind my forehead, the midface itself seems to be recessed.

Would you say Bimax and Genio would solve these problems? I have seen many Lefort 1s solving the negative orbital vector.
Thanks to the user CCW who recommended me to overthink my plans!  :)

I don't any huge aesthetic deficiency warranting surgery based on the pics posted.

For functional issues, I would consult a reputed surgeon.

I'm pretty sure he does :D

Like, not at night or in everyday situations,
when I do something that's exhausting.

My nasal (septum) airways are perfect, had a nosejob,
problem is that my airway may be too narrow, fixable with bimax.

I do not think his aesthetic concerns are a result of mouth breathing.

Might be just narrow airways that cause breathing issues.

That's the reason I want a bimax:

Long mid-face is your primary aesthetic deficiency. Your nose is too long, really. Vertical lengthening of the chin may help to balance this out. Your chin is also quite weak from profile.

Agree on the point with the midface, but wouldn't vertically lenghtening of the chin make the whole thing worse?

Yeah, it might. It depends on your IPD, really. The distance between the pupils and the end of the chin should be about 1.85-1.95 times the IPD. So, if a chin lengthening will result in anything greater than that, then disregard that as an option. I think really what you could benefit most from is clearing up your skin. Skin makes a HUGE difference.

What a coindence, I'm starting accutane in 1 week!
What also bothers me is the negative orbital vector, maybe a good Lefort 1 could turn the nose slightly and balance the thirds...

Oh lol, that's good then!

I'm not really noticing the negative orbital vector. Honestly, even David Gandy and Francsico Lachowski have negative orbital vector. http://media.lifestyle.one/jpg/80/0/0/0/0/0/0/0//0/North/0/0/0/0/0/l/a2/674ed/5c6c1/f63fe/35103/cf09c/59acc/david_646x466.jpg

I think it's only really an issue if it's absolutely horridly negative.

Your profile looks good tbh. You have a nice antegonial notch, and good, low-set, strong brow.

To shorten the appearance of the mid-face, you could try slightly trimming the upper part of the inner edges of each eyebrow. Lowness and horizontal width of eyebrows are a very important part of the whole midface. Chace Crawford would be a nobody if it weren't for his thick, wide eyebrows which start very low in relation to his eyes.
