Fat transfer instead of orbital rim implants?

Great pictures.
I'm not an expert, but my experience is that fat does not stay.
It's a long strange story... But a doctor drilled my upper nose very narrow last summer.
Then he replaces the structure he took out with fat.
The fat is gone now and nose feels like skin and bones and much weaker than before.

But I guess there are different areas where the fat can stay better.

Maybe because your fat grafts didn't "survive".

The survival of the fat will depend upon surgeons skills and will be the result of how the fat was harvested, how it was purified, and how and where it was injected.
When done successfully, the injected fat grows a new blood supply and begins to receive the nourishment it needs to survive from your body. When this happens, results can and often are permanent. However there can be a percentage of fat that does not take and this is why touch-ups are sometimes necessary.

Yes that's true but Coleman is the inventor and pioneer of modern fat grafting!

Yes that is established. I saw this result a while ago and was very impressed. I want to meet him actually.

And while I take online reviews etc with a grain of salt , I did go  after researching . I am trying to find some of his patients who had under eye work done.

Earl mentioned in one of his recent posts, that blindness is a real risk. I dont know what to think about this.

The photos are deceptive.   My guess is they are deliberately deceptive.

The lighting has changed.   

That said, fat grafting in the hands of someone with a lot of experience doing facial fat grafting does work.   Some results can be astonishing -- and permanent.   If done right,  60 to 75% of the original fat will survive.   

So the trick is to slightly "over inject" on the first pass.  Wait for the shrinkage.   Then consider a 2nd pass after maybe 8 to 16 months.

Oh... and this is one of those areas of surgery where (for lack of a more precise word) the "artistic" ability of the surgeon.

I have been in a room full of women that had fat transferred into their cheeks, think Twilight Zone "The Eye of the Beholder"....
I like that this surgeon was ultra conservative in the amount of fat he placed there but still, fat is a poor medium to substitute bone structure.

But, I really hate that the lighting is almost never the same in before and afters. Lighting and angles change images so freaking much.

Infraorbital rim implants are still superior, more authentic and probably cheaper too

I've had fat multiple times and it doesn't really last.  Try temporary fillers.
