Surgery to Narrow Wide Head?

Is there any type of surgery that can narrow your head shape?

There's 2 doctors that do it apparently, but I couldn't find any other doctors beside them that offer this.
So a little skeptical, but am curious.

Apparently posterior temporal muscle reduction can do this.

why would you ever want this? A narrower head is never better especially for a male

What do you mean by 'head shape' as well? Which part of the skull / face?

There are people , whose heads are way too wide in proportion to rest of the face.

If you mean your neurocranium, then the only ways are through temporalis resection which only Eppley performs, or a lot of botox.

Basically what Milli_Meters said. Head too wide for face, giving you a creepy, lightbulb apperance.

Its an unusual request.

It was not really that easy till the advent of 3d printing. Eppley just realized there was a market and has jumped on it.

if your head is wide and ur face is narrow like a lightbulb as youve described, youd be better off widening the face, rather than narrowing the cranium.

Measure your head. Is it really that much wider than average? (15cms)

If it is very wide , you may need a compromise of slight skull reduction a la Dr Eppley and slight facial widening.

If it aint much wider than avg and just looks wide compared to ur narrow face , it wud be better to widen ur face.

Only really shows up with short hair, medium length hair covers it up to the point where it isn't really much of an issue.

Otherwise your best option is posterior temporal reduction. Widening the face won't tackle the issue because the area directly surrounding the ear cannot be mobilised. It is the position of this area relative to the posterior temporal region which leads to that 'lightbulb' look.

So than how safe is posterior temporal reduction procedure?
Is it predictable or can things easily go wrong?
