Opinions on results

Hey everyone,

So I'm about 5 weeks post-op from double jaw surgery and I was just wondering if you could give me opinions on the results so far. While I do think it's an improvement, as the swelling comes down idk if its enough to cross into the normal/average looking category which is all really wanted from this surgery(aside from some functional benefits). Ideally, I would like to just move on from all this and not have to worry about or get any more surgeries. Anyways, let me know what you think. Thanks for the help!

You're very obviously swollen.  I know it's hard but try not to focus so hard on your looks and redirect to other things, there's literally nothing for you to do but follow doc orders and wait for swelling to go down for a few more months before you'll start to see your results.  So far looks like a positive change, and you're probably going to look very average/normal, as you say, once the swelling settles.

From the front you need a centering rhinoplasty to make it straighter which will make the face look more symmetric

How much swelling do you think still needs to go down? I'm not sure how I feel about implants/rhinos, I've heard a lot of not so great things about them from people on here, but whats a contouring osteotomy? Could it help my cheek area because I feel like they're almost non-existent and that the lefort made them worse

You just have a deviated septum. Any half decent ent shouldBe able to straighten it. Many people have crooked noses, and usually it's hardly noticeable. It's very noticeable in your case.

I think you look great and I dont think you need to do anything other than recover fully and enjoy the rest of your life.

Like everything else about a rhinoplasty, easier said than done.  Cartilage has memory.  My nose came out of rhinoplasty pretty straight but has shortly after resumed its rightward tilt. The dude was a revision rhino specialist.

OP, your whole face looks heavy from the swelling.  I don't know how long it takes to notice most of the result but I'm going to guess about 3.5-5 months.

I thought septoplasty is basically an osteotomy? Anyway OPs nose is quite crooked, it will be better afterwards regardless.

Thanks for the help everyone! I still think my cheek/eye area is lacking but I guess I'll just focus on recovering and see how this semester at school goes, probably look into getting my nose straightened out somewhere down the line. I just have one more question about relapse, is there anything I should be doing or looking in to to prevent it, and how long does it usually take to notice signs of it? I'd hate to have gone through all this just for everything to revert back to the way it was.

And the more time that passes by, the better your features will appear because the swelling will still be apparent. Trust me dude u look great.

Don't underestimate the swelling. It's probably causing more distortion of your face than you realise. Try not to worry and reasses after the swelling is gone.
dont know much about relapse though sorry!

Looking good. It will get better imo as time passes.

May I ask what your movements were?
