BBSO, geinioplasty, or bimax with geinio?
« on: October 23, 2017, 03:20:42 PM »
Ignore the weird hand placement. I have an overbite, and had braces for a few months before deciding to get them off because the ortho wasn't cooperating with my request to talk to a maxfac. I want to get jaw surgery and then Invisalign and at some point in the future get implants.

You need a psychiatrist.

You need a psychiatrist.

My teeth are actually recessed, you just can't tell because my upper mouth soft tissue is very thick.

The lower jaw is somewhat recessed, look at that short and narrow ramus and then the chin falls behind the lips, not to mention my head posture isn't in an orthognathic line so, rotating the pic will more accurately depict the recession I'm talking about.

That pic shows nothing wrong whatsoever.  A short and narrow ramus doesn't get corrected by bimax.  A chin slightly behind the lower lip is normal. What's your overbite in mm? Take another photo with better alignment if you really want to show any of these supposed deficiencies.

Are there any osteotomies that could affect the ramus width and length?

you DON'T 'need' a BSSO. Profile is very good.

You could CHANGE his screen name to: 'DOESN'T need BSSO'. lol

Haha.

OP, show us something (like your bite, airway, etc) to suggest you need a BSSO. Right now this looks like classic BDD/lookism.
