WHO BRINGS JAWS MOST FORWARD? (WORLDWIDE)
« on: November 03, 2017, 08:49:11 AM »
Which surgeons move the jaws in FRONT of a vertical line down from the Glabella/Forehead?

Which surgeons move the jaws VERY far forward and are NOT conservative with their movements?

Who delivers an aesthetically forward face?

Thanks!

My surgeon brought my maxilla forward 10 mm, I'm unhappy about it and considering CW.

I'd be careful about an over-advanced maxilla, it gives an odd, ugly look.

Is it ok if I ask what your expectations are?

Consider that moving the jaws 'VERY far' forward and delivering an 'aesthetically' forward face are mutually exclusive requests in which you choose ONE or the OTHER. You can't assume the movement 'VERY far' or the 'most far' would also be the 'most aesthetic'. In fact, movement of the 'most far' could resolve to aesthetically displeasing.

My maxilla was advanced only 6 mm. I look like a dog in profile.

My maxilla was advanced 10 mm and my jaw 19 mm, with CCW.

Trust me, more advancement is not better, I believe I had way too much advancement and rotation.

Think of it this way, imagine a person with an underbite, with an optimal maxillary positioning and jaw protruding past the forehead. That person has too much jaw advancement, right? The right treatment would be to recess the jaw, right? Imagine instead of receding that person's jaw, you forward her maxilla to match the jaw. That would not look good, is that what you want?

Too little advancement doesn't look good, but too much doesn't either.
That's my case... but a simple setback is no solution either. Lots of people end up snoring after that.  I needed mild setback with mild advancements combined with ccw, but my useless surgeon doesn't do ccw.

Does CCW improve your airway?

In theory, setback with CCW would've preserved it at least. Pure setback would've reduced it.

Yes, it's actually the best treatment for a small lower airway.
Millimeters are miles on the face.

What kind of dog?  :o I can't picture it otherwise.

My maxilla was advanced only 6 mm. I look like a dog in profile.

Some of the absolute worst results I've seen are because a surgeon avoided CCW, instead advancing too much or unnecessarily impacting to reduce an angle.

The awesome part is I had zero breathing issues and my surgeon went for 10 mm for the sake of "a model he can't deviate much from", whatever that means. I'm guessing it has to do with ante-face?
