Is there a such thing as a '3D golden ratio mask?'
« on: May 08, 2018, 06:58:41 PM »
Many of ya'll are probably familiar with this... https://imgur.com/a/j1XX8Qn

Its the very commonly seen 2d golden ratio for a frontal view of a face.

I've seen some side profile ones. Not sure which ones are legitimate. However, I'm wondering if it is possible to combine the two to have a 3/4ths view golden ratio along with an overall 3d one.

Might be useful for better analysis of facial aesthetics if one can also visualize things that way.

EDIT: NVM. http://www.vali.de/wp-content/uploads/FaceResearchMaskIn3D.png

It exists. Might play around trying to overlay it.

Golden ratio and mask is in 2-D plane.

There'a 'such a thing' as realizing that a 3-D object (such as a face) PROJECTS onto a 2-D plane such as looking at one's self in the mirror or looking at a photo of someone. So for better 'analysis', realize that.

His mother.

Are you asking if I think he's from Lookism? Yes, I just said that. I can't be sure, but whenever I see that mask it's a red flag!

Treading into Lookism territory...

Its only lookism territory when you start calling people "phaggot," "slayer," "mogged," etc.

But on a serious note, IDK why it hurts to know what is "off" about a person's face. Even if you can't fix it with most technology today, its better than being ignorant about it.

Plus, lookism posters claim that the golden ratio isn't real and scientific and yell obsessively about things like FWHR and other nonsense.

I know, I'm aware about the discrepancy of photos vs seeing someone in person.

But just like how cartographers have found a reasonable compromise for a 2d map of the globe for different purposes, I don't think its impossible to find a good middle ground here.

I've browsed it before. I don't actually post there since there isn't much productive discussion there. I've been mostly on /r/PlasticSurgery when it comes to posting otherwise. Also, nah, like I said, lookism posters are ridiculous to obsess over FWHR and other nonsense that they think that the golden ratio mask is bs.
