Bad surgery outcome
« on: October 20, 2025, 11:29:58 AM »
I had DJS in 2022, and as soon as I woke up from surgery I could feel something was wrong, I suddenly had an anterior open bite which I never had before. My surgeon said that’s fine although it later turned out I had condylar sag which caused this and also meant that my ccw rotation was much less than planned. My surgeon and ortho only used elastics to fix the open bite so my jaw is still in an open bite position skeletally. Surgeon agreed to do a revision genio but it didn’t help much, this is how my jaw looks now after 1 DJS and 2 genios. It’s a disaster and I’m still somewhat recessed.

Original surgeon said he would do revision but only if I paid the full amount again…another surgeon diagnosed me with condlyar resorption. I don’t know what to do.

That doesn't look like a "disaster" on the x-ray. Your profile looks mostly normal, and your bite looks good. I'm not seeing the condylar sag...

I don't know. Maybe post some photos in the flesh because the x-ray looks fine.
