Why is maxilla impact ion not a good option?
« on: October 31, 2013, 02:13:06 AM »
Been reading through all the posts here frantically before my jaw surgery and I read (somewhere..) that maxilla impaction doesn't work out right. Can someone shed some light on this?

Exactly - if you have a gummy smile and/or long philtrum, then you might need impaction

I had one surgeon suggest impaction of the front to open my deep bite.   In my case this is a TERRIBLE idea as I already have a short face/philtrum and not a lot of tooth show.  I need rotation yes but by bringing the back down, not pushing the front up.    :o ::)
